Procurement Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Engineer to join our automation company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing technical materials, spare parts, and services required for sales, maintenance, and project operations. This role requires strong technical knowledge in automation systems, effective supplier management, and the ability to ensure timely and cost-efficient procurement to support business needs.
• Source and procure automation components, electrical parts, and technical equipment required for any department within the company.
• Handle RFQs, prepare comparisons, and issue purchase orders in line with technical and commercial requirements.
• Evaluate suppliers based on quality, pricing, lead time, and reliability.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost efficiency.
• Coordinate closely with Sales, Technical Support, Maintenance, and Projects teams to understand requirements and priorities.
• Follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and avoid delays in operations.
• Handle urgent procurement requests related to breakdowns and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all purchased items comply with required technical specifications and standards.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, supplier databases, and documentation.
• Support after-sales and maintenance teams by ensuring availability of spare parts.
• Monitor market trends and identify alternative suppliers to reduce cost and risk.
• Resolve supplier-related issues such as delays, shortages, or quality problems.
